Ellie Goulding - High For This (The Weeknd Cover) Prod. Xaphoon Jones

Ellie Goulding - High For This (The Weeknd Cover)

So, let's say, hypothetically, that one of the most talented up and coming female singers covered a song made by one of the most talented male singers. This hypothetical track was then produced by one of the most talented producers. After all that, this hypothetical track was released on College-of-Music.com.

Now let's say that none of that is hypothetical and this is all a very real scenario which stems off of Ellie Goulding's cover of The Weeknd's song High For This. With production from the one and only Xaphoon Jones, this song is a real work of art.

If you like anyone of these three artists who have their hand in the pot for this cover, you will love the song. Ellie gives it new life for all those who are familiar with the The Weeknd original and production from Xaphoon Jones makes it sound crisp as ever.

Although she does take some of that creepy hostel feeling that Abel Tesfaye instills all through House of Balloons, Ellie Goulding adds a touch of finesse to the song and lifts it up to give it a sort of floating feel to the track. Xaphoon's production gives it a bit of that 8-bit sound that is more friendly to the ears than the original. This song can still send chills down your spine when you hear Ellie Goulding sing her whoa's.

Neon Gold got the exclusive on this track so check them out if you haven't already and want to hear some of this sick new cover!

If you don't believe me, take a listen for yourself. Let us know in the comments section who you think did it better? The Weeknd or Ellie Goulding?
